Two interlocking 3D glass arrows pointing forward

Strategic Advisory & Product Shaping

Decide whether blockchain is the right tool for your product. Then decide which path to build.

Most institutional blockchain programs commit to a technology path before they’ve stress-tested the premise or defined what the product should actually do for the people who will use it. We do the opposite. Strategic Advisory is where we pressure-test your use case, validate the product vision against real user and stakeholder needs, evaluate your build-vs-integrate options, and assess your protocol choices against the real terrain — your stack, your regulators, your operational model — before a line of code is written.

Signals you're a fit

When to engage us in this mode?

You're a fit for Strategic Advisory & Product Shaping if you're at one of these points:

You have a mandate to "do something with blockchain" and need to convert it into a defensible, scoped initiative with a clear product vision.

If you already know the path and need execution, you probably want Enterprise Architecture or Product & Protocol Development instead.

Our approach

What we do

01

Blockchain opportunity assessment

We map your candidate use cases against where DLT actually creates value — disintermediation, atomic settlement, programmable compliance, shared state across counterparties — and where it doesn't. You leave with a ranked shortlist grounded in feasibility and business impact, not a wishlist.

02

Product vision, priorities, and idea validation

Before we touch technology selection, we work with you to define what the product should do and for whom. We validate ideas from two directions: what's possible and valuable from an on-chain-native perspective, and what your end users, business partners, and stakeholders actually need. The result is a product direction that's both technically sound and commercially defensible.

03

The "do you even need a blockchain" analysis

For each candidate use case, we run a structured test: what does the chain do that a centralized system can't? What's the cost of the trade-off? Roughly a third of the use cases we assess fail this test, and we tell you so.

04

Tokenization model evaluation

RWA tokenization, stablecoin issuance, deposit tokens, loyalty and programmable value structures, fund tokenization — each comes with different regulatory, custody, and infrastructure implications. We map your product goals to the model that fits, flag the ones that look adjacent but aren't, and surface the operational and user-experience trade-offs that aren't on the vendor's slide deck.

05

Build-vs-integrate decision frameworks

Build a custom protocol, integrate an enterprise stack (Hedera, Rayls, Coinbase Prime, Fireblocks), or partner with a regulated issuance platform — we model each path's cost, time-to-market, vendor risk, and exit cost over a 3–5 year horizon.

06

Vendor, protocol, and infrastructure selection

We've integrated, built on, and migrated off most of the relevant infrastructure. The evaluation matrix you get is informed by where each platform actually breaks under load, not the marketing one-pager.

Deliverables

What you get

A Strategic Advisory engagement runs four to eight weeks. Step through what you receive at each phase.

  1. A product vision document with validated priorities, user/stakeholder needs analysis, and a clear articulation of what the product should achieve and for whom.

  2. A ranked use-case portfolio with feasibility, business impact, and regulatory complexity scoring for each.

  3. A vendor and protocol shortlist with the rationale, the trade-offs, and the disqualified options explained.

  4. A high-level reference architecture for the recommended path, sufficient to brief a procurement or technology committee.

  5. A scoped, fixed-price proposal for the next phase if you want to continue.

You also get the same senior team from day one — consultant, engineer, solutions architect — all of whom bring product perspective alongside technical depth.

Comparable engagements

Common starting points

Four patterns we've seen recently. Swipe through to see how each one starts.

01 / 04

Custodian Bank

Tokenized money market fund issuance

Evaluating whether to build a tokenized money market fund issuance system in-house, integrate with an existing platform, or partner with a regulated issuer — needing help defining the product scope from the end investor's perspective.

02 / 04

Retail Bank

Deposit token program viability

A retail bank's innovation group testing whether a deposit token program would create real treasury and settlement value, or just headline value, validated against what their corporate clients actually need.

03 / 04

Tier-1 Corporate Bank

Internal multi-currency settlement layer

A Tier-1 corporate bank choosing between three permissioned chain stacks for an internal multi-currency settlement layer, needing both technology evaluation and product-vision alignment across multiple internal stakeholders.

04 / 04

Payments Provider

Stablecoin payment rails decision

A payments provider deciding between building stablecoin payment rails on a public chain, a permissioned chain, or via a hybrid approach — with the product direction shaped around their merchant and partner ecosystem needs.
